New Alexisonfire. This makes me happy in a really sad/angry/bash my head against a brick wall kinda way.

As opposed to the new Our Lady Peace song, this song is an improvement on Alexisonfire’s past stuff (which I should note, I love). It’s rockin like a song from Watch Out!, but continues the efforts to share the vocal parts more equally among the 3 frontmen that was seen on Crisis. Most notable to screamo aficionado’s would be George Pettit’s new vocal style. Instead of the standard throaty scream we’ve come to know and love, he’s actually SINGING on the new track. Sure, the singing sounds like Cookie Monster getting tortured, but it’s definitely a change from his past offerings.
Two thumbs up. I just hope the rest of the new album (from what I know, titled Young Cardinals) is as juicy.

Note to my loving readers: I’ll be trying to focus more on Canadian music from here on in, so it’s a small change in format. Expect more interviews with local Montreal musicians, as well as commentary on more well known figures from this frozen tundra land mass we call Canada.
