Alison Picard: Booklyn Bloodhound
As most of my posts demonstrate, I’m a sucker for narrative – peeking into the medicine cabinets of just about everyone who will let me in their bathroom. When I first saw Alison Picard‘s work pop up as profile pictures on facebook, I was intrigued. It was when I saw her work as the cover of the upcoming issue of the Toronto-based queer publication NOMOREPOTLUCKS.ORG that I realized that Alison’s work is bloody (actually!) & real.
Alison Picard is a Brooklyn-based multimedia artist “whose focus is centered on narrative–framing new ones, revealing existing ones, and honoring the power in relating each other’s experiences through witness and collaboration.” (from her bio).
The gallery below are photos from her piece Emotional Relay, featured in the NOMOREPOTLUCKS. you should also go to her site and check out her work. Its amazing, sometimes creepy, and super sexy!
