stilkey2 1 300x400 Go Ahead... Judge The Books By Their Covers

The only time when it is completely acceptable to judge a book by its cover is when the book has been used as a canvas for an artist. Mike Stilkey has always been attracted to painting on old record covers, vintage paper, and yep you guessed it right… books. [ Continue Reading ]

mark evans 003 585x327 Etch a SketchWhat is one of the most manliest things this world knows? If you said spandex. Good try. The answer is. Leather. Girls could look good in leather sure. But the raw essence of it is nothing but man. The skin of an animal stripped, torn and tanned. Made for sheaths of battle swords, straight razors and pocket knives. Whatever. Is it something inspiring though?

bill sienkiewicz 02 See Retro Visions TodayYou’re sitting on an airplane. Your suit. A creamy brown. The year. Sometime between 1969 and 1975. You swirl a glass of red wine before you take the final savoury sip. “What’s this,” you say. “a 1936?” The gentleman in white corrects you. “37” he says. You nod your head in acknowledgment.  He hands you a card made of gold and salutes you just before the plane hangar opens like the belly of a shark split down the middle. [ Continue Reading ]

the knife sweden2 371x400 Goodie Reminder: We Share Our Mothers Health The KnifeI am a huge fan of The Knife, they are an electro pop duo from Sweden that formed in 1999. They consist of siblings Karin Dreijer Andersson and Olof Dreijer, who together also run their own record company, Rabid Records. “We Share Our Mother’s Health” is one many great songs that have come out of the critically acclaimed album Silent Shout. It’s one of those videos that can mean a lot or nothing, all depends on the mood you are in when you watch it…

rhood 585x389 No Need to Hide These Under Your Mattress (Its Art! I Swear!) Ok, you know how the oldest trick in the risque-photo-loving porn-watching book is claiming there is some sort of redeeming artistic quality to the material that is really at the root of  your interest? Like, “I read Penthouse for the articles” or “The cinematography is this adult film is extraordinary”.
