main5 533x400 Kent Monkman is Fabulous

I first heard of mixed-media artist Kent Monkman when visiting the Art Gallery of Ontario this summer, and was totally blown away. Kent Monkman, a Toronto-based artist of Cree ancestry, uses paint, performance, and video/film to challenge text book notions of Canadian history. His most well-known character and alter-ego, Miss Chief Eagle Testikle, has been spotted all over Canada, studying the European Male and taking very close notes.

lindsay lohan topless for muse magazine cover Muse Magazine features Lindsay Exposed [ NSFW ]Just when you think you’ve got a small break from Lindsay-mania, she comes back with a vengeance. It seems like it’s human nature to be attracted to wrecks and controversy. I mean, just take a look around next time there is a car accident, you’ll see a bunch of people standing around aching to see something bad, they’ll never admit to this of course. Well I am coming here to set the record straight, I love wrecks, controversy and Lindsay Lohan is full of it and this is why you and I look at her! [ Continue Reading ]

sub 311x400 Julie Jackson: Mind Your Fingers!

Just in time for the holidays, I received an e-mail from one of my favourite crafters, Julie Jackson showing off her new holiday cross stitch patterns. If it weren’t for Jackson’s sassy book, Subversive Cross Stich, I probably wouldn’t be the proud needlepoint geek that I am today. I have always had a love for textiles, and am a sucker for old school DIY art meets modern grrrl potty mouth…

69eea72addtudios.jpg 585x295 Monday Mood Ups: Pixar Lamp Faces JusticeWe are all familiar with PIXAR’s work. To date, the studio has earned twenty-two Academy Awards, four Golden Globes, and three Grammys, among many other awards, acknowledgments and achievements. It is one of the most critically acclaimed film studios of all time.  Just as popular as they are, so is their witty intro animation, where the lamp crushes the letter “i”. Seems harmless? I think not! Watch the video after the break…

Hello Everyone,

My name is Ingrid, and I live in Montreal… I just pretty much moved here from sunny Miami Beach, FL, but contrary to what some might think I enjoy the cold a lot better than I do the Heat! I am excited about the idea of exploring Montreal, and everything this city has to offer. I was a Music student in the US, but I have noticed that beyond a passion for Music, I have a passion for the arts. I have been performing since I could walk and talk, and well the rest is just history… talking led to singing, which led to dancing, which led to performing at random places…. and then inspiration hit  me to convert thoughts into words. As I started reading more I felt I had more things to say myself, and so I would write short stories, poems, and a lot of lyrics. [ Continue Reading ]
