Missing concert pig found in desert

A giant inflatable pig that disappeared from a US pop concert, floating into the night skies and the headlines, has been found in pieces in the desert.

The helium-filled balloon, released during former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters’ act on Sunday at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, was discovered a few miles away.

Concert organisers had offered a £5,000 reward for its return which will be split between two householders who found piles of pink plastic in their gardens without realising what it was.

As tall as a two-storey house and as wide as two buses, the pig escaped and floated away as Waters played a version of Pink Floyd’s Pigs from the 1977 album Animals.

“It wasn’t really supposed to happen that way. I don’t have the details,” festival spokeswoman Marcee Rondan said.

The pig displayed the words “Don’t be led to the slaughter” and a cartoon of Uncle Sam holding two bloody cleavers.

The other side read “Fear builds walls” and the underside read “Obama” with a ticked ballot box for Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

Found this one by accident while I was watching different remixes of Royksopp songs. This guy remixed Roykopp’s What Else Is There, here is one of his original songs just as weird and dark as What Else Is There.

The sculpture is a retractable phone booth that is carried on your back and can slide up and over your head to completely isolate you from society, kind of like the way a cell phone does. The action is fast and slick just like the flip action of a cell phone. Historically the iconic phone booth represented a place where one could go to be alone for a private conversation, transform into superman or travel through time. Today, it’s obsolete in most cities. With the Portable Cellular Phone Booth, one can transform from a member of society to one that is closed off. By delivering my sculpture to an unsuspecting public, anyone who notices the piece receives a myriad of messages from self deprecating humor to the neglecting of friendship in real time for the hope of something better.

To p romote the exclusive thrillers and horror films on 13th Street, the toilet of a nightclub in Hamburg was specially prepared. Just after entering the room, the light suddenly goes out and the room is bathed in Black light. And now a bloody crime scene becomes visible on the floor and walls: “See what others don’t see. 13TH STREET. The Action and Suspense Channel.”

So this is a bit weird, but looks like a good idea. Who needs a girlfriend anyway!

Lennon pot video in court

Amazing video footage of John Lennon smoking pot, writing songs and discussing putting the hallucinogenic drug LSD in President Richard Nixon’s tea will be at the centre of a dramatic court case to start next week reports reuters.

In a bid to keep the tape private Yoko is set to go against Lawrence, Massachusetts-based World Wide Video, which claims ownership of nine hours of raw footage of the former Beatle and Ono filmed only weeks before the legendry band parted in 1970.

World Wide, a consortium of Beatles collectors, are looking to release the historical footage as a 2 hour film “3 days in the life” detailing the break-up and mind set of Lennon at this crucial time.

Rolling Stone magazine dubs it “the most awesome John Lennon footage you might never see.”

Having paid $1 million for the tapes after legal costs and other expenses, it was almost premiered last year but the showing was pulled after Yoko’s lawyers asserted her copyright ownership of the videotapes.

The story looks to be a film in itself with legal parties get ready to fight.

The tapes in question were filmed between 8 to 11 February 1970, and show Lennon composing two hits, “Remember” and “Mind Games,” whilst openly discussing his drug use in scenes that World Wide describe as “intimate and no-holds-barred.”
